At The Park

Posted by in Archer, Jackson

Moments before we were kicked out of the park by this horribly terrifying Garter Snake …* *So the story goes … Jackson had the wonderful idea to visit the local park that is full of enormous trees and tons of grassy areas to run in. So, we packed up Ruby, some poop bags, a bottle of water, the camera, and ourselves. When we got there, Ruby sprinted across the grass, while Jackson, Archer, and I had a look around. We had a chance to walk around for maybe ten minutes,…read more

New Life

Posted by in Archer, Family, Jackson

January 16 is coming up, and we all know what’s so important about that day, right? Well, the first thing that comes to my mind is it’s the birthday of a friend I had in elementary school. It’s weird how I remember stuff like that, but I can’t remember to get my teeth brushed before walking out the door. Really, the true significance of this day is that last year it was the last day of being employed and the first day of being a stay at home mom. At…read more

Oh, The Teeth He Has

Posted by in Archer, Breastfeeding

Oh. My. Gosh. So, the teething thing has turned into a not-so-fun time for Archer AND the rest of the family. He is generally unhappy and not satisfied by much of anything, which is completely out of character for him. So far, Archer has been a delight (and he really is even now), but this sprouting teeth ordeal has made him and me a tad grumpy. In his times of restlessness and discomfort, he has resorted to biting while nursing. You can imagine how lovely I think this is. I’m…read more

With Teeth!

Posted by in Archer

Today was the average day at the ranch. Jackson, Archer, and I rolled out bed and did the normal getting ready stuff: shower, eat, let Ruby out, play, etc. John came home for lunch. He came a bit early, so he cleaned out a cabinet in the kitchen that has been unopened since we moved in. It was full of beer mugs and random glasses that we obviously don’t need. So, yet another box of stuff to sell at the planned WAY in advance garage sale next summer. Purging our…read more

Archer Everson Fry is 8 months old. In my mind he should still be somewhere around the ballpark of 3 months, but reality is telling me differently. I know, every month it’s the same old, ‘I just can’t believe how old my beautiful baby boy is’. But, seriously, I cannot believe this child of mine is past the halfway mark and on the fast road to being one year old. Crazy! I’m holding each of these quickly passing months with baby Archer close, because I know how fast babies turn…read more

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

Posted by in Archer, Jackson, milestones

There has been an awful lot of change and growing up going on at our house, lately. Jackson is now 4 (!) and starting pre-school soon. Despite our decision to start looking for a place as school is starting, we were still lucky enough to find a good pre-school program with one spot available. Once again, I must do ALL things at the last minute. AND, we now have a 7 month old that is sitting up, crawling, and standing with support. So far I’ve had a hard time taking…read more
